For primary school children (age 7-12), height-adjustable is strongly recommended — children grow 5-8cm per year. A fixed-height desk correct at age 8 will be too short by age 11, forcing forward hunching during the years spinal habits are forming. For secondary students (age 13+) who have largely finished growing, a fixed adult-height desk (72-76cm) is suitable.
